How do I get these green checkmarks some people have?

I've seen this feature on many videos. What is it and what's its purpose?

Those files are stored on DropBox. The checkmark indicates that they are in sync with the files in the cloud.

Ah actually I remember them now. I thought it was a Finder extension or something at first.

As a matter of fact, it is a Finder extension. It comes with the Dropbox application. ;-)
