How do I hide that bookmark menu when I click the address bar on Safari?

    Well? It's pretty hideous. I have no idea what Apple is thinking implementing that.

    Safari -> Preferences... -> Search -> Show Favorites

    I personally find it useful, by the way.

    Well its alphabetically sorted and use favicon so hits 2 common requests on here. I like it.

    The favourites menu is actually my favourite feature of Safari 8. You don’t have to see the bookmarks bar all the time anymore and it adds a bit of colour and distinctiveness to your bookmarks. It’s completely optional too.

    That's a lot slower than just using the trackpad.
