So I got my phone an hour ago and restored from a backup from earlier today. All my pictures, settings, etc. are there... cool.

But I'm not on the AT&T network. It says No service while my old iPhone 5 is still on the AT&T network. iMessages and things like that are working fine because it using my WiFi connection.

Do I need to set up as a new phone?

turn off your iPhone 5/hard reset your iPhone 6 plus - worked for me on launch day

May be a silly question, but you did perform an upgrade and didn't buy the phone outright, correct?

If not then just swap the sim and you'll be good to go

i bought it using the AT&T Next program. i don't have the tools to switch out the sim cards and would prefer to not bother with that.

when i powered my old phone off and turned my 6+ off then back on, it did not sync up to AT&T. what is meant by "hard reset"

excellent question

Cant tell if you're being sarcastic. Someone may overlook this, maybe.

Okay you don't need to switch sims since you upgraded.

Hold the power and home button until screen goes black and turns back on. Should take roughly 7-10 seconds.

This has nothing to do with setting up the phone via iTunes.

Can you confirm that the line you upgraded is the phone you're upgrading from?

Meaning that your phone iPhone 5 is the line you upgraded with the 6?

ATT has been backed up with activations this week. Worse comes to worse dial 611 from your 5 and talk to ATT
