What he said. Also if you're using it on your desk keep it plugged in because the new batteries have a auto shutoff when it tops off so you won't overcharge the battery

Use it. Don't be too concerned with preserving the battery. I've seen posts where people ask why their nearly year old batteries have dropped a lot in capacity when they only used a few charge cycles. The battery capacity will go down with time regardless if you use it or not. Calibrating once in a while does help though...
