This is another one of those little things that apple overlooked. I woudl also like them to unlimit the phone call history. The history should go back at least 12 months and not 20 calls.
Yes, and the info should be expanded upon, why not let us see call details like duration and time/date for more than 1 call per contact?
You guys ever think that Apple and AT&T (or carriers in general) have a deal going on?
Carriers make money when people go over. As mentioned, an SMS counter wouldn't be hard to implement or ruin the UI, AT&T may have asked Apple not to display a counter. Then in return, AT&T cuts Apple slack in not having "Media Mall" or whatever displayed on the iPhone.
Just saying. A counter seems more of a necessity (unlike MMS) and its odd how Apple still hasn't given in.
Same thing with Palm Pres. I somehow doubt they 'overlooked' these features and its more likely a deal with carriers.
The iphone is the only phone I have ever used (that supports sms) which doesn't have a built in counter. I can't believe apple overlooked it. Even worse, 3 updates later (4th prolly coming soon) and still nothing.
While I don't mind as I don't come close to go over my texting plan, my friends are always complaining that I go over by only a few characters and they end up with 2 texts. I explain to them that my phone doesn't have a counter and they laugh at me. "Wait, your $600 phone doesn't count the characters for you?" or sometimes, "That's what you get for buying an apple".
Apple, please fix this!!! I'm trying to get friends to switch over, but you're not making it easy!!
The newest update of the iphone has a character count on it. You have to go to Settings, Messages, then at the bottom it says "character count." switch it to yes. Once you have a message that has gone down one row the **/160 will show up below the "send" button.
hope i helped.
