How do I know the upgrade to El Capitan went well?

I just upgraded my iMac and MacBook Pro to El Capitan, but I am a little confused as the experience was different.

On the iMac, I went into App Store and clicked on the upgrade button. I got a status bar telling me how long the download would take. Once that was over the upgrade went pretty smooth. In the end I saw a new desktop picture and got a notification "What's New in OS X El Capitan". Pretty much normal.

On the MacBook Pro there was no status bar for the download. Ok, that's fine. The upgrade seemed to go off ok. But when it was done it was all very uneventful. My desktop still had the picture from Yosemite, and there was no "What's New in OS X El Capitan".

Is there any way to make sure the upgrade went ok on the MBP? Is the difference in experience anything to worry about?

    Thanks!

Yes, go to the Apple on the far left of the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click on "About This Mac" A Box will open in the middle of the screen. If you successfully upgraded it will look like the attached. If not it will say Yosemite instead of El Capitan.

Note, I am running OS 10.11.1, your's should say 10.11.

Thanks. Yes, I did check "About This Mac" and it did show El Capitan. I guess it's of some assurance but I just don't like it when installs don't go as expected. It puts doubt in my mind about how the install went.
