I have a MBP unibody. I would like to buy a spare power supply off of eBay. Everything I see says things like
Comnpatible Models:

Apple Mac Book: MA463LL/A, MA464LL/A, MA090LL, MA600LL, MA601LL, MA092LL/A, MA609LL, MA610LL, MA611LL/A, MA895LL/A, MA896LL/A, MA895LL, MA896LL, MA897LL/A, Core Duo 1.67 15-inch, 15.4-inch Glossy, 17-inch, Late 2006, Mid 2007 17-inch Santa Rosa, Late 2007 15.4-inch Santa Rosa

I do not know what any of this means or how to find out what my MBP is. Can someone clue me in?

But as miles01110 stated, any 85W power adapter will do.

A Magsafe power adapter, or a battery?

Magsafes are compatible with all models of Macbook Pro since around 2006 IIRC. If you get the 85W adapter it will be fine.
Excellent, thanks. It is Magsafe I am looking for. So even if it is not an original Apple, but a 3rd party it will still be OK?
