How do I lock the screen manually, if this is missing then ...grrr...apple...

I don't want to wait even for the least amount of time as in one minute for the screen to auto lock, as soon as I finish a call and I have my iphone at hand I don't want to accidentally keep touching the screen and calling people I don't want to call, this minute is way too much. I want functionality like my nokia had with 1 and then pres # (if I remember correctly) to just lock the screen, i.e. the keys, i.e. the icons) myself and not wait for any amount of time for the phone to self lock. CAN I JUST LOCK THE SCREEN MYSELF APPLE INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR X,Y,Z MINUTES to self lock?

is there an app offering such functionality?

Is this a joke? You seriously bought the phone and didn't know that the screen is glass or that it has a lock button right there on the top? 😕
