I made a new Detox focus which just switches off news and social media notifications. All good but…

Every time I go to sleep (from normal, non-detox, no focus mode) and it goes into the sleep focus… wake up, it comes out of sleep and into focus mode.

Get in the car (in normal, non-detox, no focus mode), it goes into driving focus. Get out of the car, find it in detox mode.

Go to work… well you get the picture.

How do I get it to exit from the automatic focus modes into just “focus mode off” as before??

There are no automations on the detox one. It’s meant to be just manual activation.

Check (for) scheduling of a focus, especially Smart Activation:

Already thought of that unfortunately
When I use focus modes whichever one that was put on before the other focus mode turns on follows a priority. This is especially true since I use reduce interruptions as an Apple Intelligence based iPhone focus feature so I’m only notified for critical or important notifications and all other notifications and calls except my favourites are silenced.

So let’s get an example here. I have my reduce interruptions focus (the focus for do not disturb), scheduled to turn on at the evening hours until the morning. But I have my sleep focus on during the wind down and bedtime which absolutely silenced everything except with intelligent breakthrough when my Apple Watch is set to sleep track for the night. So when the reduce interruption focus comes on at 11:30 PM, it turns on only if the bedtime on the sleep focus is later than that. If it’s vice versa when the sleep focus is on earlier than the reduce interruptions then that will go on first but the reduce interruptions wouldn’t unless if I wake up earlier before the focus of that one ends later than the sleep one.

Alas, I'm a "until I leave this location" or "until time HH:MM" and no Driving Focus Focus-er so don't run into this issue generally.

Can maybe code around this. For example, I have my house geo-fenced in Shortcuts Automations so when the "when I leave home" Automation runs, a Shortcut gets called to check to see if a Focus is running and stop it if not the Workout Focus (aka check to see if leaving the house or doing cardio in the neighborhood).

So might want to try a simple test. In OP case, an Automation for "when Driving Focus turns on". Last thing it does is to run Action "Set Focus Detox to Off". Hopefully it will keep Driving on and dequeue the idle Detox Focus.

Or variation of above: "when phone connects to CarPlay", "...connects to car Bluetooth" but same basic step(s).

Or make Work, Driving, etc not be automatic enabling. Have Automations "at this time", "when arrive at work location", etc. to first disable whatever active Focus is running and then call the "Set Focus" action to activate location/time specific Focus. Something similar with "connects to car's BT/CP".

And, of course, can always turn on the Detox Focus with "until I leave this location", "for one hour". Or write and call a Shortcut to enable the Detox Focus until a specific time (aka > default option of one hour, or other than "until evening").

Correct 👍 and I don’t use smart activation on focuses either. That one would be annoying to use in my case

All a bit of a mystery as I never set anything all that complicated up.

However I wrote down all the focuses, deleted them, and created them from scratch… so far it’s behaving
