How do I make spring-loaded folders reset to original view after drag-and-drop?

I'd like to be able to do the following: drag an item into a folder, watch as it springs open, release to drop it in, and then after that's done, my view resets to the original folder I dragged it from. Every time I try this, including in column view, it appears to persist on the final destination and I have to manually navigate back.

Is there a way? Thanx. 🙂
