iPhone How do I move gmail IOS contacts to iCloud instead?

Hi All,

Currently in my Contacts, I have Gmail and iCloud contacts listed. My Gmail has 101 contacts and my iCloud only has 1, which is myself. I'd like to have iCloud acting as my primary instead of Gmail so that all my contacts show up under iCloud instead of Gmail, and then have Gmail pull from iCloud (instead of vice versa).

I've looked all over but can't find a way of moving or importing those from Gmail.

Can anyone provide direction?

Thanks David.

That said, I already have this part done. So I can use my gmail contacts on my iphone. That said, I may be moving away from gmail, so I'm trying to figure out how to move the contacts to icloud .. .not just access my gmail versions.

Any more thoughts?

Once they are in your iCloud account, when you enter the name into an email the address will enter automatically. The name will appear in that box. Touch the name and you will see the address. You can even use Siri to call the contact if a phone number was imported as well.

  • Add and use contact information
  • Edit contacts
  • Add your contact info
  • Use NameDrop on iPhone to share your contact info
  • Use other contact accounts
  • Use Contacts from the Phone app
  • Merge or hide duplicate contacts

You can export from Google Contacts here: https://contacts.google.com/

Then you can use this to import into iCloud: https://support.apple.com/guide/icloud/import-export-and-print-contacts-mmfba748b2/icloud
