I use my B&W G3 as a file server. Most of the time it stays running all the time with Transmission running. Recently I noticed in Activity monitor a process that will take up as much of the CPU as it can. From the time I boot the Mac to shut down, its always running. Even if no other Applications are running, this stupid thing is always going. Telling it to quit or force quit only works for a few seconds until it starts up again. Its also claiming this is "my process" Anyone know what this is or how I can get rid of it? Its the top one in the picture.

It is a process for spotlight, indexing the hard drive.
I'm not sure why it is running so often, but to stop it eating your CPU i suppose you could set spotlight not to search most of your hard drive, especially where your transmission files save to or load from.
