How do I remove this orange microphone icon at the top please?

It means an app is recording audio. Press the long button to se running apps.
To close the app hold the long button until the Power, Medical & Emergency screen appears then release and hold down the crown until back to watch face.

Thank you, it's gone after restart.

It was probably Shazam that was using your mic. Check your privacy settings for your watch apps.

It does a similar thing with an Orange dot over your Cell signal after you have used your microphone. Also the feature appears for apps the have recently used your camera. Just an Apple privacy enhancement.
