I am new to Mac and did something so now when I use my volume up/down/mute it goes to other functions. down- minimizes my screen. up- goes to my dashboard. I'd like to reset so that they go back to the original volume function. Thanks.

In system prefs, uncheck the bottom box.

Is there a command to check/uncheck that box? Sometimes I need to use the F keys as normal keys.

Use the 'Fn' key on your keyboard in combination with the desired function key.

Making sure the box is checked first right? :p. I use f1/f2 for spotlight f3-f7 for spaces/expose. So easy!! :)
