My friend bought this computer this Macintosh LC II a numebr of years ago, let someone else use it just a bit to play some games, and then stuck it in her closet for all these years. The friend that borrowed it put in a password, and no one knows what it is. I am not at all familiar with vintage computers, and am not really techy. How can I get past the password? Any help would be appreciated.

Another question, if she decides to sell, is there a market for these somewhere? I know & sell on both Ebay & CL, but wondered if there is a more specific market?

A photo of the password dialog (whole screen) will help to determine what type of password locking is being used. Make sure focus is good enough to see detail.

There are a few it could be and obviously, workarounds will be different.

After talking to my friend again, she said it now made a bunch of noise, and won't boot up at all any more, so it shall probably be going for parts. :(

Thanks.
