Unless your buyer works for the NSA who cares. A standard wipe for me is sufficient.

If the buyer works for the NSA, they probably already have all that data anways.

Only way to make sure is to overwrite all data on the phone. After erasing you need to fill the phone with any non-sensitive data to over write every bit of memory. At that point the original data would be gone forever.

Keep in mind that if you ever did a backup to the cloud or even your desktop, you data would still be available to those spies that are hunting you!
