How do I select photos to upload in iPhoto?

Whenever I upload pictures from my camera onto iPhoto, it just uploads all of my pictures that are on my camera. Is there a way to select only the photos you want to be uploaded onto the computer? Thank you!

Do you have iPhoto '08? If so, here's a video tutorial on Apple's website to show you how.

Wait, what is iLife? I'm talking about iPhoto. I don't think I have iLife.

I updated my post to say iPhoto to be more clear. iPhoto, GarageBand, etc. are a part of iLife.

Wait I just checked. I have iPhoto 6

Sadly, there is no way to do that using iPhoto '06.

A work around is to drag the pictures from your camera's memory card into iPhoto.
