Well you can go banana's on this, but this is the way OSX works, and you can't compare it to Windows UAC. You just need to enter your password to confirm what you are doing when doing some crucial things to your machine. If you want to do important things with the terminal you also require "sudo" or "su", thats just the way this system works. Get used to it.
Surely you can answer a simple question without ending up on a snotty note. Not everyone is as much of a mega computer genius as yourself. BTW, you're no spelling expert - "banana's"? Using the possessive form of apostrophe instead of properly using a plural form "bananas"? After you finish up with human relations and good manners 101 I advise a night course in basic English. Are you stumped? Example: The banana's color was yellow, and its taste was sweet. I think you should start there. "Its/it's" is a good one. "It's" with apostrophe is used solely for the contraction for "it is". It's the rule. It's not used in its possessive form. GET USED TO IT!

As I sit here with a new Macbook Pro... installing xCode components required for my job... guys.. I know you Mac guys are all high-and-mighty and stuff, but Windows does it much better these days. Instead of having to come back to my computer and enter my password every 10 minutes... Windows would ask me once at the beginning, then do all of the work it needs to do. Mac OS earned it's reputation as an "easy to use" operating system... but the reality is that Windows caught up and surpassed it while MacOS still has the same old useless taskbar, broken keyboard controls, and doesn't even have a single-click means of maximizing a window without while leaving the menu bar and task bar visible (requires option+click... but really who wants the other thing.. like EVER). Plus their developer tools just plain suck... nobody likes XCode.. period... and nobody wants Swift.

Sorry to rez this thread - was searching for help regarding the same....

It would be nice if you could use TouchID instead of having to type in the password.... I can't see a way to set that...

Today I got the following feedback from Macpaw and it works!

Please follow the next instructions on your computer:

1. Open Launchpad - Applications - Utilities - Terminal and paste the following command:

sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac4.Agent.plist

2. Press Return, type your User password and press Return again. Please note that you won’t see your password on the screen, it is absolutely normal.

3. Restart your Mac and try to complete a new scan with CleanMyMac X.

Case closed :)

You are awesome, thank you! :)

This is ungodly. I literally remember back in the day they dragged Windows for this. Now it’s even worse on Mac because instead of just having a dialog box come up, you have to enter your password. I opted to make my password 2 characters long so it would be less of a hassle. I must have to enter my password to do anything, over 20 times each time I use my Mac. Back in the Snow Leopard days this wasn’t a problem.

This is a default that is set up without asking you when you install the OS. You have to go to Settings and look down the list on the left for 'Passcode'. On the right it says what this is set to. The longest interval is 4 hours. However, there is an option to turn it off! Relieved I am not the only one to have found this a problem - I had to get Apple Support to help me sort it out.
I had this exact problem for quite awhile with CleanMyMac X, but it has been SOLVED.

Open Terminal and cut & paste the following command:

sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac4.Agent.plist

Then restart CleanMyMac X.

Of course, there is always the"your mileage may vary" caveat. I ran this in a Mac Pro (2013) running MacOS Monterey (12.7.1) on Intel silicon. Plan to do it on a Macbook Air M2 a little later on.
