I currently have a 3GS running 3.1.2 and would like to know how to tether with it. Im not sure whether or not it would cost to do so, but free would be great.

1) Install eagos' tethering hack.
2) Browse to http://m.peacefulinsanity.com/Tether.mobileconfig in MobileSafari and install the peacefulinsanity tethering hack.

Who told you to use BenM? BenM will break your VisualVoicemail even if you can get it working. Did you try the instructions I gave you?

OP I recommend a program called MiWi available through Rock... $10 but you can tether via usb or you can turn your phone into a mini wifi router 😀
Hey, in my network settings on my MBP it says that the iPhone USB is not connected, but it will work on bluetooth, anyone know what the heck is going on?
