well, the silent mode isnt quite practical solution for turning off calc-app clicks.

Download P-Calc....

Thank you. I hate noises of any kind on my phone as well. Since updating my phone, all of the apps have a click or a ring, etc. I like my phone to vibrate & nothing more.

I have downloaded that app. I will use it from now on.

I hate the clicks too. There is already so much noise pollution in the environment. I bought the phone and am paying for the services to use it; I would like to choose whether or not I want to listen to clicks or not. The calculator clicks serve no useful purpose. If it is such a non-issue then why are so many people complaining about it? I do like the idea of downloading a different calculator until Apple takes the high road and admits they made a mistake by fixing this one.

I must have lousy hearing. I've never heard a click. :(

Right now there are a couple of workarounds: use the silent switch on the side of the phone (which similarly helps with the camera shutter sound or the sent message sound that can't really be disabled), or use another calculator app that can have its sounds disabled or doesn't have any sounds to begin with.

I'm getting very close to returning to Android. Why can't I turn them off?!
Return to android over key lick sounds on calculator. Man you must really use your calculator a lot. Is that you main app. Have you considered a dedicated calculator.

Why not, it's only one click at start of using calculator and another when you done. Think about it, you will be clicking buttons entire time you use calculator. So what are two more clicks.

It's like that pimple has n your nose. Once you see it. You can't stop thinking or looking at it.

Well.. i usually forgot i changed something. Couple days ago i scratched my head because i didnt have any sounds when playing games with my iphone.. i was totally forgot that i turned the mute button on :D

However.. there should be an option to turn off irritating sounds without necessary steps to do and undo.

It amazes me how somethings bother some while others are oblivious. The keyboard sound is at such a low volume . . . . .
There are physiological diffferences between people and their response to
things like repeated noises. Additionally on a train with someone beside you beepping I can say it's very annoying, nothing wrong with wanting to mute!

I have ridden many of a train and unless your head is in your neighbor's lap, it would be hard to hear the muted clicks of the calculator. If it is "beeping" it is not an iphone.

In a look at the settings?
There are no settings for Apple's iOS Calculator app, and no other options in Settings that will affect it (aside from the silent/vibrate switch on the side of the device basically).

The difference might also play a role, for a long time the sound was controlled by the keyboard sound setting and those who had those disabled would never heard this sound because of it, while suddenly in iOS 10 the setting no longer applies to that sound, so for someone not being used to hearing it (because they disabled sounds like that using the keyboard sounds option) to now hear it just that difference is enough to make it noticeable and of some annoyance most likely.

I didn't know the sound was turned on w/ios10 (I'm still on iOS 9.x).

This and the battery charging apps changing under ios10...examples of Apple micro-managing (to put it kindly) more and more.

Really annoying.

It is amazing to me how some people annoy everyone around them (like in a waiting room or similar setting) with all the little sounds on their phone but they are completely oblivious to it.

They are not oblivious to it...they just don't give a d*mn.

I don't know about micro-managing necessarily as these can be just changes for all kinds of reasons (including no real reason or even a bug/glitch of some sort), but, yes, those are the some of the changes in iOS 10 so far.

Settings, sounds, keyboard clicks, toggle off. No more clicks in calculator.

I hate apple all because of these little things and lack of good apps. I nearly smashed it a number of times because it was driving me nuts. With iPhone you can't do this and that. I have always had an android HTC and loved every single piece of it. I really regret switching to iPhone. I am going to throw my 6s in the trash once my contract runs out. iphone is simply overpriced and overrated piece of kit. You get android phones for £100 that have the same capabilities as iPhone apart from the good camera.

I'll take it

You are FUNNY!

We will mark you down as a probable buyer of the new iPhone 8:p

I work in a very quiet room with 4 other people. They are concentrating on their work adding numbers, and designing 3D CAD. That clicking sound in the calculator disturbs everyone. It needs to be made to not happen. This is becoming close to a deal breaker for this phone. I like just using my phone because i am up and down a lot. I've taken to buying an old Casio calculator. Yes it's a work around.. but why should I have to do this?

Flipping the switch on the left side of the phone to Silent mode takes care of it quite nicely. No more key clicks.
