iPhone SE (2016) How do I unlock my iPhone SE to sell it?

I may buy a used iPhone 7 Friday that’s is supposedly unlocked and was used on the same Verizon carrier as my SE currently is (fingers crossed).

1 - can I transfer the data from my iPhone SE to the iPhone 7 by myself or do I need to take it to the Apple store?

2 - Can I unlock my SE afterwards or can only Apple (or Verizon) do this?

If you have iTunes on a computer you can use it to move from one iPhone to another.

The carrier is the one who you want to talk about unlocking your SE.
