How do i unlock my iphone with Cydia?

What iPhone? If you upgrade with official firmware, baseband will also be updated which means it can't be unlock. Then, you will have to hope a new version of Ultrasn0w gets updated to support the new baseband. As to when it will happen, rumor has it will be out around the official 4.2 firmware release, but we can't be sure.

on a I4 or 3GS baseband can not be downgraded. so if you update improperly then you will not be able to unlock until the unlock is released. which could be soon or never never. www.Iclarified.com has great tutorials that will allow you to update and keep your baseband. I have a I4 on 4.1 baseband 1.59.00 😀 so I can unlock.

If you do that you will NOT be able to unlock.

If you updated to official 4.1 you will not be able to unlock it.
Read and understand what you're doing before you do something that is not reversible.

You will have to wait for a new unlock to be released for the new baseband.
Never assume, be 100% sure next time so you dont get stuck like this.

Who told you iPhone 4 could be unlocked with 4.1?
With all the phones, you have to preserve the baseband before you upgrade to 4.1--if you want to be able to unlock.

nobody has a answer for you. there are plans for a unlock but when & where what is unsure. for now you just have to wait you can downgrade firmware but not baseband! always be careful! 😉

you are confusing jb w/ unlocking... none of them can be unlocked unless you preserved the baseband from a previous fw since the BB in 4.1 is not unlockable at the moment... You can jb 4.1 for all but the BB of 4.1 can't be unlocked so you have to create a custom fw that updates the iPhone to fw 4.1 but preserves the previous baseband from the older fw. Also on the 3GS and iPhone 4 the BB can't be downgraded, only fw.
