How do I use contacts on Mini to replace on iphone 4s

Ok so gave my son my iphone 4, but he stayed logged in with my account and deleted all my contacts on his new phone, so now they are all gone from my 4S. I have them on my Mini since I sync with my Mini and not iCloud, how can I recover everything from the mini to my 4S, this is one reason I hate iCloud, you make one mistake and it is gone from everything...

Sync your Mini contacts with iCloud. Reset your iPhone and re-enter the iCloud log on. I should re-sync with your iCloud data.
