So I've read that "Find My iPhone" is free now free to use on the iPad 2.
How do you get it to work because everytime I enter my Apple ID it's not recognized.

I don't have a ME account, do I have to sign up for one?

Your account is the same as your iTunes ID. That said, I'm not sure this works unless you have the 3G iPad. I don't know that though? I ended up up buying the 3G and it works great on it.

You do have to set something up. Go to the app store and get the "find my" app. I assume you want to be able to "find your iPad", in which case it has to be a 3G iPad because it needs GPS. if you just want to be able to find your iPhone FROM your iPad, install the app on your phone and then browse to www.me.co, login and you'll be able to find your iPhone. I hope you haven't actually lost it.

It works pretty well. I actually use it to find my son. I log in to his me account and it tells me where he is. He knows I have it, I'm not spying on him. Just provides peace of mind.

All I did was

Setting>Mail>Add Account>mobileme> Then entered my info. It even let's you create an account.

Then I went to me.com logged in and checked it out.

pretty cool stuff.
