How do i use the app?

Do i just open and close it at 8:01 AM or is there a refresh button or something on the Apple Store App

This is my first iPhone pre-order so i have no idea what im doing...

Curious also, if apps open will it refresh automatically when stores back online or do you need to keep opening and closing app?

Yep - it won't refresh, you definitely have to force close and reopen to re-check.
