When I open up more than one picture (e.g., JPEG) in preview, it displays one picture at a time, putting the other pictures in the sidebar. Normally this is ok, but sometimes I need to look at two (or more) pictures side-by-side to compare things. How can I do this in Preview?

thanks!
Mark

You can control+click / right click the images in the sidebar and then "Open in New Window"

If you wanted to change the default behaviour Preview- Preferences - Images - When Opening Images

[doublepost=1512380167][/doublepost]If you go to Preview-Preferences-Images-When Opening Images, it still does not allow comparison of images side-by-side in separate Preview windows, no matter which option you select. I have tried it. It doesn't work. g-boac has exactly the same problem as me. I know it can be done - I have seen it on tutorials.

How do I get multiple images in the side bar?

- Install a simple free app called Spectacle.
- Open Preview images in multiple windows
- Use the Spectacle controls to arrange the 2 windows top/bottom or left/right, as desired
