Any time I'm on my phone and I stand up to walk in the other room without hitting sleep, when I look at my phone it has been activated. It's really annoying because it happens even when the keyboard isn't open, on web pages such as blogs and news articles where its not even possible to type. I shouldn't have to hit sleep just to stand up and walk into a different room or even just create the most basic amount of movement.

Makes no sense. Must be why they created ShaketoUndoKiller, can't wait until they update it for iOS 8.

I have never activated it accidentally, and I text while walking and sometimes even while running.

I don't generally use the shake to undo feature, but I have before. If I need it, it's useful. And since I've never activated it by accident, I have no issue with it existing.

I use it on occasion. Usually when I make a mistake and delete a large portion of selected text. It has to be an "ah s***!" moment. Other then that I never remember it.

However I very rarely accidentally activate it.

I very rarely manage to activate it accidentally with my phone. The iPads, on the other hand, seem to be more sensitive. Just setting one down on a bed or couch is often enough to trigger it, which is a minor nuisance. I have never once used it as an actual feature. It's one of those things that probably ought to have an off switch (under Accessibility, maybe?), but apparently Apple thinks otherwise.

How do more people not inadvertently activate shake to undo?

I looked it up and there is no where to enable/disable it. Saying that I just tried it in messages and I really have to shake it hard to see "undo typing"!

If I had the tremors that bad that it activated "shake to undo", I would lay off the caffeine or go see a doctor, 'cause something ain't right there buddy. Just sayin'

No, actually I don't have "the tremors" at all. I stand up and walk with it in my hand, nothing more. It's a stupid feature, get over it.

I would still see a doctor. And I don't find the feature stupid at all. I just find it annoying when people try to force their opinion(s) down my throat as if it is a general consensus. Get over it.

Really? Well I find it annoying when people arrogantly assert that an issue I and plenty of others have is being caused by me or is "all in my head." I never said it was the general consensus. Apple makes great products, but they have some serious flaws that they are too stubborn to ever fix.

Maybe your iPhone has a sensitive trigger?

I tried dropping mine on the couch while typing and no undo comes up! I have to shake it hard! I wouldn't call it a design flaw. In your case it could be a hardware issue.

iPhone 6 Plus with 8.1 here!

Is there anything you like about the iPhone? All I see are threads of you complaining about something with iPhone. I'm not trying to be rude, but dude...

Reactions: Newtons Apple
I think it's a pretty useful feature. On the rare occasion that it comes up when I didn't intentionally shake my phone, I hit cancel.

Some folks just like to complain.

It's never activated for me, ever unless I activated it myself.

Same here. I find it useful. But they should add it into the copy paste menu. Shaking the phone is never a good idea and ruins workflow when typing.

Does any one use it? I have never used it before I have only activated it on accident. Maybe we should open up a thread asking this very question...
