Hi i have a macbook and mini mac and would like to link them so that you use the same user name and password on them they are on the same network

The easiest way is just to have user accounts with the same credentials.

If you also want them to sync their home folders then you would need a Server OS with Open Directory configured. Then bind the client Mac to the Server OD.
