Tried the eSIM swap online. The Cellular Plan kept saying invalid when scanning. Tried to remove the cellular plan that was installed and then tried the eSIM swap again and that installed a new Cellular Plan and said wait up to two hours. That still didn't work. Tried to do the Physical Card swap with the ICCID and that gave the "we have our wires crossed". Randomly just received a new eSIM profile that I installed and that created a different Cellular Plan associated with the other eSIM. That worked. So not sure where that Cellular Plan came from unless it was from when I initially activate it and they're just now funneling through the backlog of activations. Performed a test call and it seemed to work. I did remove the previous Cellular Plan profile after that to fix an iMessage issue because it saw them both as "Primary".

Go into Settings>General>About. You should have an eSIM profile so you will see details of it on the eSIM section and tap and hold to copy ICCID info. Log in online using the web browser, select your line and use Change My SIM. Select physical sim because there is a ICCID info available for the eSIM and tap and hold to copy it from the device and paste it in the field. After you submit it, it should immediate take effect. EID info needed only if you are attempt to add eSIM without ICCID info. eSIM already added so no need to select eSIM from T-Mobile site.
Damn, this worked. Thankfully. It was pretty much instant. I guess they need to update their support staff.

What if the "Change SIM" website shows the devices but no options to actually change?

Sounds like you login it and scroll a bit down to Change SIM and it will ask you to select options of which line to change.

or

Click view details on your line or view account, select your line and Change SIM

Either way works

I went to cellular and turned the line off and then turned it back on a few times on
The new phone. That seems to have done the trick.

So I picked up my 13P from the Apple Store today and was under the impression it would be activated via T-mobile eSIM.

The rep put my old SIM in the new 13P before having me turn it on, and after turning it on, I saw 2 SIMs activated and knew something was wrong, but the Apple employee thought it was part of the new IOS15 update.

I went home and restored the phone which removed whatever eSIM was activated and I put my old SIM back in and everything seems to be working fine…

Does anyone know if the eSIM1 number in general>about is supposed to match the number on the physical SIM?

So I upgraded from the 12PM to the 13PM. All I did was take out the SIM card and put it in the new phone...took a few minutes for the phone to activate. Then all was good!

Finally got a hold of a T-Mobile rep. Gave them the EID for my new 13 Pro, he had me toggle airplane mode and flip my phone off and on, and then it finally worked.

Do I still need to update the ICCID?

Based on the replies here it seems what happened to me was rather unique. I have a 12 Pro and I bought a 13 Pro through the IUP. When I ordered my phone, I did say I was with T-mobile and filled out all my info. When my 13 Pro arrived, I set it up doing the transfer from my old 12 Pro.

It apparently transferred my cellular plan from the physical SIM (still in my 12 pro) to an eSIM on my 13 Pro. It never verified or asked me if that’s what I wanted, it just did it.

Which is fine of course. Everything seems in working order as far as I can tell. While my phones were transferring I was on the internet googling how to switch from a SIM to eSIM and…it just kind of did it for me.

I called T-Mobile and the rep I got ultimately re-activated my previous physical sim in order to get service back. I don’t have a problem using a physical sim but I wonder if that affects the trade in activation promotion T-Mobile is offering

I’ll try activating esim again later when their systems are hopefully up to speed.

This saved me. Thank you! 🙌🏼

If the rep I got managed to get my service working with just the EID, should i still update the ICCID via this method?

I had zero issues; did not need to contact T-Mobile at all. Perhaps because I had the eSIM on my 12 Pro Max… but everything swapped over instantly in-store while activating. Saw the service drop on my 12 Pro Max and go live on the new device - took less than 20 seconds. 🤷🏾‍♂️
