Find your Photos icon. When you open Photos, you'll see your pictures arranged in albums (if that's how you've arranged them) or according to when they were taken. Arranging pictures in albums makes it easier to search for them, but this isn't compulsory. Select the picture you're going to send. You can backup photos from iPhone—just tap them, and a small blue circle with a white tick inside will appear on the bottom right-hand side corner of your picture. After you select your images, tap the blue box with an arrow in the top left-hand side corner of the page. You'll get this screen. This part should be familiar to almost anyone. All you have to do now is type in the recipient's email address, bring your finger down on the send button, and voilà! Your picture (or pictures) are sent!

Uh, thanks... But that isn't even close to what I was asking. Not to mention that this thread is a few years old now.

All my pictures are automatically uploaded to my Synology NAS. This keeps me from having to buy iCloud storage, plus it feels nice not having my photo's floating around in the Cloud on someone else's server.

Flickr. 1Tb free and they have an app that quietly runs in the background on your Mac and uploads everything. Has the obvious advantage you can get at and/or publish your pics from there too (everything is set to private when uploaded automatically).

Google is the only good option I've found, but when you're using a stock Nexus device, my god they're so hassle free. The problem with Apple is they restrict things to the point where it isn't user friendly any more. iCloud is a big example of that, it's such a mess and their whole backup service is a mess as well, so many times I don't get everything I wanted.

Does DB make much of an impact on the battery?

It has no effect on the battery. I have it set up to sync when I start the DB app and try to make sure that I am covered under my WiFi at home or office. Only takes seconds to sync and I can access these images no matter what device I am on.

My company depends on DB as we keep all of our contracts on it so each, no mater what device they use, can access our customer data base. With the 6S+ is never have to worry about battery anyway.
