When my iPad is away from home, it's often times when I'm camping or hiking, so into the book bag it goes! On vacation, a duffle bag coupled with a sleeve. I always have it in a sleeve.

I have my iPad air in a case, then in a zippered sleeve. Carried like a book.

This⬆️: I plan to use a Kavaj case (scheduled to arrive today) for transportation my Muzetto bag, or my messenger bag, or purse.

The Mini feels very slippery naked, so unlike my iPhone 4S that I have used without a case, and it's still in flawless condition, the iPad will be protected either home or away.

I use this case i have for the MBA. It fits perfectly.

I carry it in a large Waterfield (sfbags.com) Indy shoulder bag. It's a little too big for the smaller size bag (which I also have.) The bag is nice and slim, but still holds all my accessories - and sometimes a 12" MacBook, which slips in behind the iPad Pro.

In my overpriced but worth it Tropiformer jacket. It has a pocket designed for the 9.7 inch iPad. In warmer temps, the sleeves come off and it becomes a vest. If it is too hot for a vest, it is too hot to carry a tablet, lol. I really do this on a regular basis when I travel by air.

They are from Etsy, Come from Japan but the delivery only took around 7 days to me in the UK. You can choose to either have the sleeve to fit just the Air or to fit the Air with the Smart Cover on. I believe if you message the seller they will also make custom changes if there's anything on the sleeve you want changed.

It has a nice sleeve inside that an iPad or laptop stay snuggly in. Aside from hiking (it's water resistant) it works good for an overnight bag, gym bag and for traveling.
