Do you use wireless charging or wired? I like the convenience of wireless charging, but wireless charging usually takes more time to top up your phone. Wireless charging also makes your phone overheat which can harm your battery as well.

Hi fellows,

Have you noticed that the battery drains faster when charged via wireless charger compared to wired one? Is this normal and does it annoy you? I personally adore the vonvenience of the wireless charging but I go with a wired charging at least twice a week just because of the issue above.

Thanks!

If it's day time wired and if night also wired.

Wired is not only quicker but it is also more efficient. Wireless charger is only, at its maximum, 75% as efficient as wired charging. This makes wireless fine for in the car but is wasteful at home.

I can’t get on with wireless charging at all. I’ve had an 8, XS and an 11 Pro Max and they all charge fine for a while but then, usually just as I’m drifting off to sleep, buzz as they stop and start charging. This happens both with and without cases and on both wireless chargers I have tried.

On a Roberts radio dock at night, like to have a podcast on the go before I finally nod off. Was quite disappointed when they stopped the now playing keeping the screen on display showing. Now it just defaults to the standard setting on the phone.

Though other podcast apps (RSSRADIO) keep the screen lit until it stops playing.

iPhone 7+ so its wired all the way baby yeahhhhhhh
Interesting. I’m backwards from that. I plug it in at night cuz it’ll be plugged in for 8 hours. I put it on a wireless charging stand at work because I pick it up all the time and frequently walk away from my desk and don’t want to keep plugging it in and unplugging it over and over again.

Mind you, I really only need to charge during the day if I’m going out that night.

Wired, I like the speed. Have wireless, used it rare occasions but the wireless pad still plugs into transformer and that into wall, so not really wireless.

inductance charging is less efficient than direct electrical connection, less current lost to heat with direct. More stuff to carry around doing wireless or have to have multiple pad at multiple locations.
