I wear glasses, and almost every day have to clean them … which I do by rinsing them under the sink, then using a bit of Dawn between finger and them, then rinsing again, and finally drying with a lens wipe.
This is exactly how I was told to clean my glasses by my optometrist. She said that many people scratch their glasses using other methods and this way is the safest way to do it.

If you look at you shower walls between cleaning, one would think that wearing in the shower will not clean it well.

I’ve just been wiping it with a glasses cloth (the face). The girl at Apple said this should be enough, but I don’t feel like that’s the case.

I occasionally wipe the sensor with rubbing alcohol otherwise I don’t clean it

Same here. It's never once occurred to me to clean the front glass, it never seems to get even the slightest bit dirty, but I do occasionally clean the back of the watch with in my case white spirit since that is something I have in my cleaning cupboard. (Maybe white spirit is another (UK) name for rubbing alcohol? I don't know.) When I do clean the back I clean the glass over the sensors just in case dirt is interfering with any readings but my motivation is more to get the area around the sensors clean - the circle just around the sensor glass where the somewhat faint writing is - because that's the only bit of my watch where I sometimes thing "yes, this could do with a clean".

On reflection it's odd that I have no issues whatsoever with the front glass getting dirty. Maybe I have very dry fingertips? Another reason I suppose might be that I mostly wear long sleeved polo shirts with elasticated cuffs so perhaps the frequent motion of the cloth of the cuff wiping across the watch face whenever I look at my watch, and even very slight motion across the watch face when I walk and move about with it under my cuff, might be giving it a bit of a clean throughout the day?

I use a smidgen of whatever soap is handy with water but only dry it with the Apple Polishing cloth of course. No scratches to report yet. 😬 Apl watch 9 SS 45mm.

Tbh it’s just a sensible thing to not worry about. It’s designed to be strong and durable (and it is) so we can be comfortable with it facing the world and still maintaining its function.

I also don’t get hung up on basically imperceptible scratches anyway these devices are for the real world after all. Our shoes and coats and bags all show wear if you actually use them too

Throw the band into my regular wash. Put it in the pocket of my jeans so I can easily find it afterwards.
