If the full window app doesn't support slide over, how do you close the app floating on top of it?

How do you close a floating open app?

Just slide it to the right off the screen holding the little bar at the top. You can also slide it back in.
Side note, the 'floating' app is the Slide Over app (when you have two apps anchored on the screen, they're in "Split View" - I don't believe the main underlying app has to support anything for Slide Over to work over top of it, but apps have to specifically support Split View in order to be anchored next to another app)
