So to my question, how do you manage your data on 128GB, and also, what is the installed actual available memory?

The initial storage space on my 2012 MBA was around 100.5 GB out-of-the-box with ML preinstalled. Currently I have around 73 GB free space and that both with Ubuntu VM (6 GB) and Windows 7 VM (14 GB) installed. Multimedia stuff is stored on my NAS.

If you have an iPhone, turn off App Synchronization in iTunes, then delete all the apps iTunes stored on your hard disk. You can always re-download purchased apps. This can save many gigs.

I have 91GB free on my 128GB drive. I probably could have gotten by with the 64. But then again, I don't carry any music or media files with me.

Exactly. I have about 90GB left as well. I carry my "important" music on a 32GB Sandisk Cruzer USB flash drive and since 95% of the places I go have wireless, I "Back To My Mac" to access any other media I may "need".

Can't remember usable space off top of my head, I think its 119GB though.

35gb Windows.
4gb restore package.
80gb Mountain Lion.

My Mac OS partition is easilly managed, Do a clear up occasionally.

Windows partition I find myself chopping and changing games installed unfortunately. Currently have Fifa 12, Half-Life 2, Crysis.

Find it much more enjoyable to use over my 2010 with 64gb though.

I'm looking into purchasing an airport extreme and attaching my usb drive , or maybe an older time capsule to free up some space

I'm torn between the 2 though:confused:

Obviously a USB drive will be a lot less space unless you buy a more expensive one...

Why not go with storage attached directly to your Mac? It'd be faster and cheaper than network storage. Sure, you have to plug it in, but I guess it depends on if you want to trade convenience for speed (and cost)...
