How do you delete a phone contact

I tried to delete a number I no longer needed, but I can only delete the phone number, but the Contact remains?

Any help would be appreciated

you simply go into your contacts, select the one to delete, then hit edit in the upper right corner and then scroll all the way down and hit "delete contact". Cheers and good luck with your iPhone mate!

Looking at the contact details: just press EDIT then scroll down to the bottom and press the "Delete Contact" red button
