How do you focus on your own face when taking a picture of yourself?

I've tried to tapping on the screen where I think might be my face would be but it's hard.

But you can't focus on your face with the rear facing camera. So though the rear facing camera has a higher megapixel count, it will still produce lower quality images because you can't focus.
