One of the greatest applications that's out there is eWallet. They have a "light" version if you want to try it fee before you buy.

It is an amazing app for securing all your personal information, however, it's not what your looking for if you are trying to protect photos or videos.

Just thought I'd mention it as this thread does touch on the subject of security and prying eyes...

This thread is hilarious! There are some good ideas on how to hide stuff from people who want to play with your phone, but seeing you people get uptight and offended over porn is funny.

I don't think anyone is uptight or offended by it. Most of us are old enough to not consider it a big deal.

But if you're having to find way to hide it on your iPhone -- not on your desktop computer, but your mobile device -- then you need to spend less time with your drawers dropped with a handful of kleenex and more time instead looking for a female companion.

Well, by your response, you seem to think that people who have nudie pics on their phone have a problem. That tells me that it's not such a small deal for you as you're leading on...

I assure you, there are plenty of normal people in this world who have no problem in the dating world (or marriage world) and still look at porn. Get over it.

Now I'm sure everyone has their reasons to have/not have porn on their phone, or even to lock it or not, but this thread is interesting for me because I'm often in an environment where friends, and sometimes children, ask to "see" my phone. I don't have porn on it now, but it would be nice to be able to throw some on there, and not have to worry about someone getting embarrassed. So, thanks for the ideas!

You see, the thing with iPhones is that they're adored by anyone and everyone who may not own one. So naturally, other people frequently ask to play with said iPhone that may or may not contain explicit content. Sure you can email content to yourself, but how inconvenient is that. So the thread starter here was asking for other tactics to hide content he may not want people, who are eager to play his phone, seeing.

If he's doing this stuff on his phone, should he really be lending it out.

I mean, ew.

If you're jailbroken, Lockdown lets you password protect any app, like mail, messages, and photos. Not perfect but good enough when you let someone play a game or read the news. But then be careful of your settings in Lockinfo or text messages will still show up on your lockscreen.

That really makes me think before I jailbreak someone's iPhone for them :(

Not worried about Internet porn or anything like that.... But if my gf sends me some nudes of herself I like to save them.. But being an iPhone, people like to play with it... What is the best way to protect those images

I believe a man who is not attracted to porn is either completely enlightened and I'm talking about the real deal (sahaja samadhi) or have 3+ times a day sex.

iFari webbrowser lets you have private time, its a password protected app. Also Atomic Web Browser has a built in Private mode. If your steaming inclined.

I wish that like my apple laptop the iphone had a guest mode or something similar, there are emails, pictures and SMS and so on that are not meant for everyone for what ever reason..

Anyone mention good reader yet? You can password lock folders that store those "confidential" office files...

I'd have to agree that spycalc works pretty well for this sort of thing.

I used to use private pics but it is not very discreet with it's app logo. Spycalc's is unassuming.
