How do you import *some* pictures from a digital camera in iPhoto?

I just upgraded to iLife '06. I'm very pleased, except for one thing. I thought they would allow partial importing from a digital camera. Now, I still have to go through Image Capture to get just some pictures. Does anyone know if this is possible in iPhoto '06?
