Check your router for connection details.

If your router supports WiFi7, then you can tell because it will connect on the 6Ghz bands.

My Ubiquiti router is waiting for the new WiFi 7 Access point to replace her.

Do we get a 7 icon on the phone ? So far my wifi speeds are much slower than my 15pro.

I have my WiFi 7 SSID separate from the other bands.

I have gig internet but they provision in a little over a gig. On my 15PM my speed test were about 700-800 on 5ghz and 6e. The speeds I'm getting on my 16PM are always over 900, and mostly 1gb.

What really matters to me ... Transfering files back n forth from my 16PM and NAS server is much faster.

Mmmm, I can get 1.4gb - 1.6gb on my iPhone 15 pro, I would consider that’s the upper limit for 6e. I’ve seen a video comparing Xiaomi 13T and iPhone 16 Pro where iPhone 16 Pro is half the speed.

My internet speed doesn't go that high. More like 1.2gb is the limit. But it mostly hits around 1.1gb hardwired.

But I'm not even concerned too much with internet speed just yet. Transfer speeds on Wifi 7 between my home 10gb network is so much faster. I plan on upgrading my MBP M1 Max because of this, when the next MBPs come out with Wifi 7.

I have WiFi 7 with a Netgear router, and it shows in the router device list as 5G+6G since that is what 7 does, it uses both bands simultaneously.

mine is crazy slow on WIFI 7 and cellular is also slower than my Iphone 15 pro. Will a software update fix this ?

As with a lot of tech stuff today, if you can't even tell whether or not it's on
maybe you don't need to tell whether it is on

The whole point of having fast wifi, is to have fast wifi, so as long as you have fast wifi, it does not matter whether it is 7 or not 7.

I have turned off Automatic 6E (which controls 6E and 7), the phone flips to 5G, or it shows connected to WiFi but no internet - just randomly, infrequently. With it off, 5G is stable as a rock and plenty fast enough with my ISP plan. I don't think they have all the bugs worked out from shifting between all these bands.

I have a WiFi 7 router and a symmetrical 8Gbps connection, this is what I get on my 16PM :

I would have expected more given what I saw when people tested WiFi 7, but in the end I don’t really mind since it’s more than enough.

According to the iPhone 16 Pro Max specs, WiFi 7 uses a 160Mhz bandwidth so the test I posted is as good as it get’s. No 320Mhz bandwidth which would allow for more. Anyway 1.5Gbps on a mobile device is more than enough.
