How do you make retangular slips with Pages?

I want to make little rectangular pieces of paper all with the same message on it. I want 9 of them to fit on a normal sized paper, so that I can cut it into 9 pieces after printing it.

How do you go about doing this on Pages?

I would insert a chart. You then can resize the cells as you like.
Personally, in these cases, I take pen, paper and calculator and make a traditional draft
Apple has online manuals for Pages. They also cover charts.

I would use a spreadsheet for something like this. You figure out the cell widths and heights that work for your arrangement, then copy the content 8 times. Voila! If it's just a one sentence message, you only need 9 cells for your example. The text can be centered in both directions for neatness. But if you want certain line breaks in the message, you might need some "dummy" rows / columns that are left blank.

I'd set up a blank document first.
Get it oriented horzontally, get your margins set.
You probably would NOT want headers or footers for this.

Now, I'd create a text box

I just tried it, and came up with this:

You'll have to do some re-arranging, change or remove the borders, etc.

Is there a way you can make it so that changes you make in one square will reflect on the rest of the 9 squares? Right now I have to copy and paste it into each of the 9 squares.

If I need to make changes to the text, I have to copy and paste all over again for 9 squares.

Another thing is that it makes cutting more complicated because there are spaces that separate the squares.

Ideally there shouldn't be any spaces between the squares.

edit: nevermind, I see that for 'rectangles' it is faster to cut.
