That was...perfect! I have rediscovered...my computer!

Thank you all so much for your invaluable advice. I am really up to my eyeballs in work these few weeks, but I will definitely get around to trying out the tips and pointers posted here. :)

No worries. Experiment a bit and you'll be pleasantly surprised (although you should probably do a backup before :D )

I was lost when I first switched in 2009 after decades of Windows, Linux and DOS use, but it didn't take too long to get the hang of it.

I know this thread is quite old but I happened to stumble upon it and as a newbie to Mac, I found it so extremely helpful.

Kudos to the posters and the excellent explanations.

Thank you!

O...M...G...
Ya make a FOLDER, then you CALL IT SOMETHING, and then you put your d**n files in it.

When you're doing other work, ya make ANOTHER FOLDER, call it something else, and put more ****** in it.

Simple as that.

Don't make it any more complicated than that, and, like the other respondant said, don't go monkeyin' around with your system folders.

KISS principle.
KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!

EDIT: P.S. For cryminie sakes, I must be in a bad mood. I just read my post, I think I need to loosen my girdle. I apologize for my abruptness. However, THAT being said, I think I made some good points (I gotta just learn to talk nicer :)
