How do you rearrange 3rd part app menu bar icons?

I know for default icons you hold down the command key and drag the icons around, but how do you do it for 3rd part app icons?

You can't... they line up in the order they were loaded.

Or, ahem! remove them and reload them in the order you want them to appear.
