I know you can return AppleCare and even get a pro rated amount if you've had AppleCare for some time.

I bought mine on Amazon from Amazon themselves (not from third party)

Go into your Amazon account and initiate a return . . . see what happens.

I don't think you can return Applecare to Apple for credit once cover is tied to a machine, so I don't expect Amazon can do any different.

Oh stand corrected :)

Just beware of:

"If you cancel more than 30 days after purchasing your AppleCare product, you'll get a pro rata refund based on the percentage of unexpired AppleCare product coverage less the value of any service already provided."

I've already used it. Will Amazon still take it?

If you mean you have used it and had service then note this in the linked page above:

"If you cancel more than 30 days after purchasing your AppleCare product, you'll get a pro rata refund based on the percentage of unexpired AppleCare product coverage less the value of any service already provided. "

If you mean you have activated it against a machine but not had service then you should be good for a pro-rata credit...

Great. I haven't had any service at all. I just used it meaning put the code in online and activated it.

I did buy it from Amazon will Apple still give the money back?

That is where you may have to go by Amazon's terms and conditions, I'm not sure who you request the return/credit from. As above I think you should start with Amazon...

I'm doing this now (bought online and returning it due to going from 13 to 15 inch ).

You return it by Apple.

Call them and they will give you an email address to send the receipt to..just forward the email from Amazon and Apple will refund you.

Returned! I'm in the process of figuring out if my CC will cover it. Will update soon!

That's pretty much the only reason why I keep an AMEX card. Otherwise, I'd have gotten rid of it ages ago.
