The title says it all really. I have some files that I dont want the time machine to back up. I had a quick browse on the interweb and I am unable to find a tutorial. Also is there a way of going systimaticly back through my backups to remove the files?

System Preferences -> Time Machine -> Options. You can add an exclude directory there.

I don't know about going back and deleting previously backed up files, but you can go into System Preferences->Time Machine->options... and add folders/files to the Do not backup: list to prevent them from being backed up in the future.

If you don't have a lot of stuff that you need to go back to get you can set up your exclusions and reformat your backup disk and just start over to get rid of the files you no longer want backed up.
