When I go to class, I usually just have them wrapped around my iPhone at the top. I thought I saw a case one time that had a headphone wrapper built in?

I always slide my headphones under the t-shirt I'm wearing, so if I'm not using them I just let them hang out of the top, onto my chest, and keep them plugged into the iPhone, seems to be the simplest way to me.

Ultimate ears includes the crush proof case for their higher end model; works great:

.

Alicia Keys also uses the case for her custom set that she uses on stage so...it's probably good enough for me :D

This. Love my UE case <3

I have on-ear headphones (the big ones) and I have a case that came with them, so I use that instead.

I am going to go to Michael's craft store and get a little tin to put them in. Thanks for the thought. I have been using either the coil around method, or a little rubber fishbone thing I got long ago (which is worse than just coiling them yourself). But the little box thingy is a great and simple alternative.

my beats tour, I always keep in the provided zip case when not in use, and strangely enough, the cable is coming apart in 2 places (headphone jack and y split). I'm thinking about contacting monster to get them replaced

My motorola in ears, though, I just coil up and stick in my pocket (I used to use the supplied pouch, but then I lost it). They are still in perfect condition. IMO, its kinda sad that cheap $30 headphones have a cable that holds up better than $150 headphones that are always kept in a protective zip case

I've looked for over a year for the perfect headphone case and settled on an altoid smalls tin. it's absolutely perfect.

Those hard bends in the wire may be why you're going through so many of them. Not only should wire not bend at sharp 90 degree angles like that, it's also pulling the wires from where they're soldered in the headphones and mic. Wind the wires around your fingers and store them in something protective and you'll find they last a lot longer, I bet. (Altoids or Eclipse mints tins are just the right size, by the way, and pretty protective.)

On his third pair. It's obvious why. I just toss them on my desk. Don't believe in coiling them up at all. Just leads to problems.

Coiled in my pocket. I've played around with trying to put them in a little bag/pouch or something, and although this is better for the headphones, it's a pain in the ass to take them out and put them back in.

I use a business card and cut little slits on each side. I put the earbud cords in first and wrap the cord around the card in a criss-cross pattern (like on your shoe). When I go to use it, I simply hold onto the plug end and let the card unravel. Simple and cheap!

I keep these in my iPad bag
