I have a SEIKO Kinetic that I bought when I was 26 or 27. It's the only one I've ever seen with that particular face. Anytime I do a Google search for it all I ever find is something that has the model number it does but does not look the same. Aluminum and gold plated about $150 on sale.

Not expensive (although it was to me at the time) and certainly not a sought after item, but I do like it a lot. Unfortunately, I was much thinner then and now I need to get off my lazy butt and have a jeweler add links back so I can wear it again.

Maybe I'll take a pic tonight.

I rotate through a couple of vintage wristwatches-again when I(rarely) wear a wristwatch. I have an Illinois and a Hamilton, in addition to the Longines I mentioned earlier. The Illinois is in pieces on my bench, and I need to do a magnet vacuum under the bench or just order a new set lever for it(fortunately I have contact with someone who has a good stash of Illinois wristwatch parts). Most vintage wristwatches are small, but the Hamilton I have at the moment is too small for me.

I tend to like leather bands on vintage watches, although my Longines(which I've been wearing on and off for about a two years) has a period-correct arm hair pinching Spiedel band. For all the bad things people say about them, they are really convenient.

I've tried on the Datejust, and it's wearable but very snug with the adjustment in the clasp all the way out. The previous owner(who is my watch show partner) has smaller wrists than I do. Fortunately, there are three extra links in the box(those things are pricey if bought separately-$100 or so a link) so I can let the bracelet out a little bit but still keep it snug. Rolex two-tone Jubilee bracelets have a bad reputation for "stretching" which many folks think comes from wearing it too tight. In actuality, the problem is wearing the watch too loose, which causes grit and dirt between the links to abrade the inside of the 18K gold links when the band moves around.

In any case, here's the Longines on my wrist today. This one is effectively a freebie, as I bought it in a big lot of pocket and wristwatches. There were a couple of Hamilton wristwatches, some junk(Swiss) pocket watch, and a few decent-albeit not high dollar-Waltham pocket watches. I think I paid $150 for the lot, sold three Hamiltons for an average of $75 a pop after a few repairs(one had water damage around the crown, but fortunately I had replacements for most of the damaged keyless works parts, and was able to salvage a couple of with careful use of an Arkansas stone), and two Waltham pockets for $50 a pop. The junk Swiss stuff is still kicking around in show "junk box" where I might sell one or two every show for a few bucks each.
