Settings, sound, turn off vibrate. Then turn the volume switch on the side of your phone to mute.
Do not disturb turns them off
I thought this only turned them off while the screen is turned off though? i.e. If it's awake then the sound and vibration is back.
There is an option of silence at bottom under do not disturb in settings. This enables the phone to remain completely silent even if it's screen is on.
Ah, cool! Didn't realize that had been added!
Wait, does Do Not Disturb actually block incoming calls and texts from coming through though? Or does it just stop the phone from ringing/vibrating?
Stops the phone from ringing/vibrating/screen lighting up.
It silences them.
Nice! My apologies, brand new to iphone so I misunderstood the purpose of this option. I'll be using it much more now!
One more thing, do alarms bypass this?
I just tried it, and I can confirm that alarms do bypass this.
