I see a lot of references to CleanMyMac being a non reputable program that has many many issues, but the only reference of which is to a thread from 2009, of which, a support rep indicated it was being fixed in an update.

Any other more recent occurrences?

That thread started in 2009, but the most recent problem report was 6 months ago. Problems have been reported elsewhere, as well.

You just joined the forum and your first and only two posts are to endorse this app. Your post makes you sound like a shill for the company.

I use fseventer during installation to monitor every file that changes on the file system. Then open the newly installed app to capture the files that are created on first run. Then I copy and paste the paths of files the installer created into a text file. This is the only way I've found to eliminate every last trace of an app without fail.

You'd be completely surprised at how many files some apps install. The Google Talk Video extension puts dozens of files every-freaking-where, and something like Appzapper just isn't going to find them all.
