I'm saying that Apple does a poor job of realizing the potential of the AVP for this initial release, in ways that would seem obvious and good for marketing.
For things that seem obvious to us, I’m sure Apple has already discussed internally those same things and came to the conclusion that it’s either not time yet or not right at all.

Just asking. Or is this just for lonely ones who watch movies by themselves?

The same ways 2+ people watch movies together now.

Vpro doesn't replace anything it's able to offer as an alternative... it's simply an alternative way to do such things for situations where it may be preferable to other options. For some people, it may fill some needs... particularly when they are away from devices it can emulate... such as when traveling and they need a screen bigger than their phone or iPad or 16" laptop screen.

I very well may buy a Vpro... but overwhelmingly to be used like I use a laptop right now... generally when trying to get something done myself, when I don't have access to my big screen desktop setup. If I do own one, it won't make the desktop screen, laptop screen, TVs, etc that I have now vanish or cease to function... nor become the only possible way for me to do any computer-based production or consumption when all this other tech is already at my disposal. It will simply be a different tool to use when it is best for whatever I'm trying to get done... or perhaps to watch something at 37K feet on a screen bigger than puny ones available now in that situation.

When it's a group/fam situation, we'll gather around the TV or collaborate on the desktop or laptop screen. If I'm flying with others and have Vpro in the bag but 2 of us want to watch something together, we'll do it as we do it now... share a phone or tablet or laptop screen.

"Think different" Apple people. We can still do that if we try.

I watch tv mostly alone. I also have a 70" with dolby atmos if I'm watching with friends/family. I'll see how it compares to AVP. My bf lives 3 hours away, we go to tons of live theatre and travel but do not have the same taste in tv shows or movies. He pays for cable and watches all the stupid network sitcoms and reality shows, I only watch streaming services and I still watch 4k blurays.

I believe Apple chose to cut scope massively to allow them to focus on the few areas they would start with and purposefully limiting the experience to ease people into spatial computing.

This happened with iPhone as well with its choice of skeuomorphic design to help train people it was natural to interact with UI on a flat glass screen.

I also think Apple wants to go slow and collect data on all parts of the customer experience. For example, unforeseen hardware issues at scale would be something to know about before releasing a fitness application.

Nobody in its right mind is going to watch a movie on this thing more than once, just to try it out.
Unless someone is going to start filming 360 fully immersive movies (Which is not a bad idea at all).

There is only one film industry that does that at the moment, and they make the type of movies that their clientele definitely want to watch on their own.

I would imagine you can go on Apple TV, start a film and SharePlay with a Vision Pro so you’re both watching the film in sync.

That particular industry has always been on the bleeding edge of technology: home video/VHS, e-commerce over the internet, etc. It wouldn't surprise me at all if those "interesting" films become the first source of actual content produced specifically to be consumed by a device such as the Vision Pro.

Maybe there’ll be multi-Vision Pro households too. A couple both watching the same movie on their Vision Pros in the same room, sync’d via SharePlay. Why not? You can still talk to each other and interact with each other because you can change the level of immersion by looking at each other and interacting.

I guess making out during the boring bits would be a bit harder though with two Vision Pros strapped to each other’s head 😂
